  • Broken spring replacement
  • Off-track doors put back safely
  • Snapped cable repair
  • Dead opener troubleshooting
  • Damaged panel stabilization
  • Track and sensor emergencies

WHAT COUNTS AS AN EMERGENCY.

  • The door is stuck open and your house is standing wide to the street.
  • The car is trapped inside and you have work in the morning.
  • The door came off its tracks and is hanging at an angle.
  • A spring or cable let go with the door partway up.
  • It slammed down hard and now won't move at all.

An open garage at night isn't an inconvenience. It's an invitation. And a door hanging off its tracks isn't a tomorrow problem, because doors this heavy finish falling without warning. Those calls don't wait for business hours, so neither do we.

When you call, you get an owner, not an answering service in another time zone. We'll tell you honestly whether it's safe to wait for morning (sometimes it is, and we'll say so) or whether someone needs to come out now. If it can't wait, a truck rolls.

One rule until we get there: don't pull the red release cord while the door is stuck open, and don't try to force the door. Both make it worse in ways that get expensive.

Same phone number, day or night: (336) 745-8173. If it can wait until morning, we'll tell you that too.

WHILE YOU WAIT FOR US.

Door stuck open

If the door is stuck open and won't come down, don't pull the red release cord. With a broken spring or cable, the door can drop the moment it's disconnected from the opener. Keep people, pets, and cars out from under it, lock the door from the garage into the house, and call.

Car trapped inside

If the door is closed with the car inside, leave it down. If a spring broke, the door is far too heavy to lift safely, and propping it up with a board is how people get hurt. Call, tell us what you heard, and we'll tell you honestly how soon we can get it open.

Door off its tracks

Stop using it entirely, and unplug the opener if you can reach it safely. A door hanging crooked is being held by one cable or part of a track, and it can fall. See garage door off track or crooked.

A cable snapped

A loose cable at one side means the door is lifting unevenly. Don't run it, and don't try to rewind the cable on its drum; it's under spring tension. More in garage door cable snapped.

Power outage

If the power is out and the door is fully closed and otherwise working, you can pull the release cord and lift the door by hand. It should feel light. If it feels heavy, stop and call, because that's a spring problem, not just an outage. A battery backup opener prevents this next time.

Door won't close at night

If the door goes down and pops back up, check the safety sensors first: wipe the lenses, clear the floor, and look for steady lights. If that doesn't do it, a garage door that won't close walks through the rest.

Before you call

If you can, note what happened right before the door quit: a bang, a snap, a grinding sound, or a bump from a car. From a distance, look for a gap in the spring or a loose cable. Those details tell us what parts to bring so the first trip finishes the job.

After the emergency

Once the door is safe and closed, we'll walk you through what broke and why, and whether anything else on the door is close behind it. A broken spring usually means its partner is near the end too, which is why we replace both springs.

When it can wait

Not every problem is an emergency. A noisy door, a slow opener, or a remote that quit can wait for regular hours: Monday through Friday 6:30 am to 7 pm and Saturday 7 am to 1 pm. We'll tell you honestly on the phone which kind you have.

STRAIGHT ANSWERS.

REVIEWED OCTOBER 2026

Do you really answer the phone at 2am?

Yes. The emergency line is the same number, (336) 745-8173, and an owner answers, day or night.

What counts as a garage door emergency?

A door stuck open, a car trapped inside, a door off its tracks or hanging crooked, or a spring or cable that broke with the door partway up. If you're not sure, call and ask.

Which towns does emergency service cover?

Mocksville and the rest of Davie County, plus Advance, Bermuda Run, Clemmons, Lewisville, west Winston-Salem, Yadkinville, and Lexington.

Is it safe to stay home with the garage door stuck open?

The door itself is fine if it's stable and nobody is under it. The bigger issue is security. Lock the door from the garage into the house, move valuables out of sight if you can, and call so we can get it closed.

Should I try to close a stuck door myself?

Not if a spring or cable is broken, the door is crooked, or it's off its tracks; in those cases it can fall. If the safety sensors are the only problem, wiping and realigning them is safe to try.

STUCK? WE'LL CALL YOU.

Leave a name and number. One of the owners calls you back, walks you through it, and gets a truck moving if you need one.
